The Five Key Characters
David McGrath
David works as a systems analyst at Identicryption. He is friends with Jen and Karen.
Karen Stapleton
Karen is the owner of Aftermath08.com. She is a former employee of Identicryption, a friend of David and Jen and married to Max.
Max Stapleton
Max is Karen's husband. He is an Art and Geography Teacher.
Jen O'Sullivan
Jen is a hacker. She works for Identicryption. She has anarchist tendencies and enjoys riddles and puzzles.
Paul O'Donoghue/ Palamedes
Paul is a top programmer who has been blackmailed into working on the classified ICIF0086 project for Identicryption.
The Bad Guys
Robert ‘Bruce’ Dunne
Bruce is the chairman of the Board of Directors of Identicryption. He is the person that is running the Identity theft scam at the company - blackmailing Paul and hiring a hit man to eliminate people he sees as threats.
George Markey
George is the owner of Georges Yard - a hit man service that is fronted by a scrap yard business. He has been hired by Robert Dunne to kill David, Karen, Max Jen and Paul. He has worked for Dunne in the past and has worked contracts on both Sarah Murphy and Gerard Tyler.
Ryan Marcartal
Little is known about Marcartal beyond that he is giving instructions to Bruce from 'Mr T'.
'Mr T'
This mysterious character is reference on occasion as being the head of whatever large-scale crime organisation Bruce is involved in however nothing else is know about him.
The Supporting Players
Mike
Mike is Karen's co-owner at Aftermath08.com. When she goes missing he is worried.
Leah Marks
Leah is Bruce's Personal Assistant and deals with his e-mails and arranges his meetings.
Sean Browne
Sean is David's inept colleague. His incompetence and attitude infuriate David to the point where he is willing to jeopardise his career to get back at Sean.
Gerard Tyler/ Alice
The mysterious Alice is eventually revealed to be Gerard Tyler - former employee of Identicryption. He worked on project ICIF0086 but when he threatened to expose the project he had a hit man contract taken out on him by Bruce. Missing, presumed dead it eventually emerges that Gerard is not dead, but rather in hiding and determined to bring the company down.
Sarah Murphy
Sarah worked with Gerard Tyler and threatened to expose the company with him. It was her assassination by Identicryption that drove Gerard to take the company down.
